Wellington restaurant Boulcott Street Bistro

A handful of reviews from visitors to our Wellington restaurant

“Brilliant”

We went here on our last night of holiday and had the best meal of our whole time in New Zealand. It was Saturday night so quite busy and still only had to wait half an hour for a table (no bookings taken after 6pm). When the drinks are as good as they are here, waiting is not a problem.
Had the most gorgeous starter of ravioli, the oil dressing was so good I had to ask for extra bread to make sure I didn’t leave any! Excellent range of choices on the menu. Great wine list with lots of choice. Service was impeccable.

“Wellington reliable”

I’ve just finished a relaxing and wonderful lunch at Boulcott Street Bistro in central Wellington. This was a business lunch for five and was perfect for such an occasion. The food was great. I had the whitebait which was incredible. Our service was perfect and they managed the right combination of attentiveness for a business lunch. The building is an old house converted into a restaurant and has lots of character. This restaurant has been around a long time but is still very relevant in the Wellington dining scene. I strongly recommend this for either a business meal or an intimate meal for two.

“Beautiful restaurant”

Had a wonderful night here with my wife recently. The restaurant itself is very beautiful and cosy sat amongst all the high rises. I thought the food was very impressive but even better was the service – attentive but not invasive, friendly and genuine. Highly recommend a visit for dinner and we’ll definitely be back on our next visit to Wellington.

“Amazing”

Went here with my daughter for my birthday dinner, all I can say is WOW it was amazing, I had the Tuna and the Lamb Shank, and choc eclair with a glass of wine. And the mushrooms were to die for YUMMY. Very charming place and the staff were friendly. I would highly recommend this place for fine dining.

“Great dining experience”

This is a great restaurant set in a charming little cottage. Staff are very friendly and attentive and the food was amazing. The mushroom ravioli to start was delicious and the Aged Fillet of Beef was superb, very tasty and cooked beautifully. There was a great wine selection also. Unfortunately I couldn’t fit in dessert but they all sounded lovely. We had a lovely relaxed evening with friends and would recommend this place for sure.

“Magnificent experience”

We visited with family from France for my husband’s birthday. They were blown away by the food, the wine and the service. We shared entrees and desserts to get a taste of everything and all the dishes were delicious. Alex was a fantastic waitress , friendly cheerful and very obliging even though the restaurant was very busy. The candle on the dessert was a lovely touch.
